How to sort our packaging
When you receive a package from Ro Copenhagen, we kindly ask that you sort the packaging correctly so that as many materials as possible can be recycled.
Here is a list of our packaging, what it is made from, and how it should be sorted:
- Shipping Box: Made from FSC-recycled paper. The box can be reused for multiple shipments or sorted as cardboard. You do not need to remove tape or other attachments.
- Silk Paper: Made from FSC-certified paper and can be sorted as paper.
- Paper for Invoices, Return Slips, and Postcards: FSC-certified paper that can be sorted as paper.
- Linen Bag: Made of linen and cotton strings can be reused for storage, as a travel pouch, or for other purposes. If you need to dispose of the linen bag, please do so as residual waste.
- Outer Box: Made from matte FSC-certified paper and can be sorted as cardboard.
- Jewellery Box: We hope you will keep the jewellery box for storing your new piece. The box is made from FSC-certified cardboard and covered with HALFLINNEN FSC paper. Linen uses fewer pesticides and less water than cotton. HALFLINNEN is both vegan and REACH-certified. The box insert is covered with organic cotton. If you need to dispose of the jewellery box, please do so as residual waste.
By sorting correctly, you help us reduce waste and protect the environment. Thank you for helping!
We are constantly evolving
We are continuously working to improve our processes and materials with the goal of finding more sustainable solutions. In 2022, we made significant progress by replacing our old packaging with a more sustainable solution. Today, all our packaging is FSC-certified and made from organic cotton. We strive to minimize our paper usage, and the paper we use is either cradle-to-cradle certified or FSC-certified.
Our biggest challenge is the foam in the jewelelry boxes. If you know of an environmentally and climate-friendly alternative, we would love to hear from you at info@rocopenhagen.com.
This page will be updated regularly, but we always welcome input on how we can improve further.
