Yoga Nidra - a Journey into Deep Calm
At Ro Copenhagen, we cherish the moments that bring balance and tranquility into everyday life. Over the past months, our designer and founder, Helle, has been training in Yoga Nidra – a practice that allows the body and mind to rest completely while the consciousness remains awake.
From this journey, Helle has created her own Yoga Nidra, which we are excited to share with you. In this blog post, Helle will tell you what Yoga Nidra is, how it can help you cultivate calm in your daily life, and of course, share her personal Yoga Nidra with you.

A moment to quiet your mind and awaken your inner calm
Yoga Nidra, often called “the yogic sleep,” is a profound, guided form of meditation where the body rests while the mind remains awake and aware. It is a journey into the subconscious layers of yourself - a space where stress, restlessness, and old patterns can be released, allowing clarity and stillness to emerge.
Unlike traditional meditation, where you typically sit upright, Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down - often in savasana. There is nothing to achieve. Simply settle in, close your eyes, and let the guided voice lead you deeper into silence.
Some of the many documented benefits of Yoga Nidra:
• Creates deep mental and physical relaxation
• Improves sleep quality and may reduce insomnia
• Calms the nervous system and eases stress and overthinking
• Increases concentration and mental clarity
• Supports healing and recovery by activating the parasympathetic nervous system
• Stimulates new neural pathways in the brain
• Enhances the flow of energy within the body, creating a sense of lightness and balance
Yoga Nidra is used in therapeutic settings as well as elite sports, as it offers a profound form of restoration. Studies show that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra can have the same restorative effect as several hours of sleep.

A session typically lasts 20–40 minutes. All you need is a quiet moment, a comfortable surface to lie on - and an open mind.
The more you allow yourself to let go and simply listen, the deeper the experience becomes.
For some, it may feel challenging at first to lie still for so long, especially if you’re used to speed and activity. But this is where the gift lies: the ability to slow down and create space for inner peace in the midst of a busy life.
I have created a guided Yoga Nidra for you who long for a quiet moment - or simply want to invite more presence and self-care into your day.
Lie down. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply.
And let yourself be carried into the healing space of silence…- Helle
The Yoga Nidra is in Danish.
